Henna Nadeem is a London-based artist. She works in collage with a variety of traditional and readymade materials. 'Trees Water Rocks' (2004) was a series of large-scale landscapes, installed in the ticket hall of Piccadilly Circus Underground station. Each collage was made from postcard images of spectacular natural landscapes in Africa, America and Australia. This was overlaid by a decorative pattern inspired by Islamic, Japanese and Moorish designs. The views and cultural motifs from around the world were intended to merge and collide to bring new meaning. Nadeem hoped the multi-cultural nature of her work would foster respect between different communities. Nadeem has exhibited widely in the UK and internationally.
