It would be difficult to tell exact location of its origin. But it is said that Mughals claim that they brought henna in Indian in 12th century. But some sources shows that it was originated in North Africa and Middle East form ancient time.
Present Time
The henna plant which grows to be 4-8 feet tall can be found in countries such as Iran, Pakistan, Syria, Morocco, Palestine, Yemen, Egypt, Uganda, Tanzania, Afghanistan, Senegal, Kenya, Ethiopia, Eritrea, and India, where the climate is hot. The leaves of the plant are ground into a fine powder to which hot water is added. Other natural ingredients may then be added to enhance its colour. The art of its application is known as Henna(Arabic) or Mehndi.
Usage Of Henna(Mehndi)
History show henna is used worldwide especially in Middle East Countries, India, Pakistan, Iran . Women make different design with henna on their hands legs, at every happy moment. Most common happy moment are religion ceremony such as Eid, Diwali, and its most common henna is used at every marriage ceremony.
